Parenting and Mentor Programs
ABBA, A Women’s Resource Center provides support for women who choose life through parenting and mentoring programs. These classes provide women with support and encouragement by teaching life skills, setting goals, and providing essential items through redeeming points at the Boutique.
Learn and Earn
Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it. – Proverbs 22:6
At ABBA, A Women’s Resource Center, women who have decided to parent their child are provided with support through parenting education sessions on issues of health, safety, and relationships. As women participate in these sessions, they earn points that they can redeem at ABBA’s Baby & Mom Boutique or for gift cards at local stores.
And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together; as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another – and all the more as you see the Day approaching. -Hebrews 10:24-25
MomCheck is a single Mom mentoring program for women with children over 12 months of age. Experienced mothers come alongside single mothers to provide encouragement and guidance, help to set goals for her and her family (spiritually, emotionally, intellectually, physically and socially), introduce a network of other single mothers for support, and provide community resources.
They can train their younger women to love their . . . children. -Titus 2:4
The Teen Accountability Pregnancy and Parenting Program (TAPP) is offered to girls ages 12 – 17 who are pregnant and making a decision to be a parent. Girls participate in mentoring sessions and participate in the Learn & Earn program and Portland Lifeguard program.
ABBA, A Women’s Resource Center has a Baby & Mom Boutique which supplies items that women need to care for their new baby. Women earn points, which they can redeem for diapers, clothes, or gift cards for larger furniture items. Contact ABBA to find out how to go shopping for the Boutique or donate the funds for ABBA to go shopping!
NOTE: Please provide gift cards for larger items, such as cribs, high chairs and car seats.
ABBA also needs volunteers that will come alongside women to mentor them through the Learn & Earn program, MomCheck and TAPP. Contact ABBA to find out how you can support and encourage a new mother.
